Adventures Life

Fayetteville

I spent last weekend with my very best friend in her hometown of Fayetteville, Arkansas. I lived in Fayetteville for a year when we were both in college and it holds such a dear place in my heart. It’s a true university town with its own quirkiness, and it’s especially beautiful.

Bridgette and I never pack our visits with activities, in fact we rarely plan much. We spent the majority of this trip on at her new home which sits on the most beautiful piece of land. I was in heaven waking up and seeing deer out the window, enjoying the cool nights, and living the farm life. I may be an Arizona girl at heart but I secretly occasionally dream of greener pastures.

Bridgette has her hands full with 2 dogs, 2 kittens, and 8 chickens. Every day we enjoyed happy hour with the chickens, a drink a chair and chickens at our feet – can’t get much better than that.

Besides hanging out at the farm we visited her parents lake house. I have so many moments in my life where I think to myself “remember this” sometimes they’re the most mundane moments, and sometimes they’re really special, swimming in the lake with my best friend after a delicious meal was absolutely one of them.

Lastly we visited one of my favorite Arkansas restaurants… Granny’s. Located in Huntsville Granny’s offers numerous gluten free options – including fried chicken. There are a few things that are hard to find when you’re gluten free and fried chicken is one of them. If you’re ever near Huntsville I highly suggest checking them out – and snag some of their homemade strawberry jam while you’re there!

Despite living in different states for the past 5 years our friendship has remained, and I left Arkansas with my best friend tank full, counting down the days till our next reunion.
